Set in over an acre of farmland.
Welcome to every child’s dream. Nestled in a beautiful hamlet just under 15 minutes from Winchester, The Pheasant Nest is surrounded by open fields, wildlife, and nature.
Our environment provides everything children need to develop curiosity, independence, and resilience at their own pace.
In this slower, more meaningful way of life, children are free to discover their true selves through hands-on experiences including growing vegetables, caring for chickens, exploring books, and spending their days immersed in the fresh air and natural world.
At The Pheasant Nest, childhood is celebrated exactly as it should be: full of wonder, adventure, and connection to nature.
Set within over an acre of thoughtfully designed outdoor space and now our beautiful barn conversion providing younger babies and children with an indoor alternative for eating, playing and sleeping if needed. Our environment provides everything children need to develop curiosity, independence, and resilience at their own pace.
The Nest believe in hiring for attitude. A values-based approach to recruitment, focussing primarily on soft skills and personal attributes. Each of the team have innate child centred qualities which in turn fosters a positive, safe and fun learning environment.

It is completely unique in what it offers. Childcare for the whole family. Genuine support to the whole family. It is more than just another nursery. It is the village that every family needs to support them through the challenging younger years.
Claire and James and the whole team go above and beyond, they have given their hearts and souls to The Nest and it is truly felt by all the children and parents.
The Nest is genuinely a loving home from home – something we really valued for our one year old.
The atmosphere at The Pheasant Nest is joyful and deeply child centred. As a parent, it is incredibly reassuring to know your child is spending their day somewhere that not only keeps them safe but truly understands and supports who they are. We are deeply grateful for the positive impact TPN and team have had on our son and our family.
As a grandmother of 2 children who have had the incredible benefit of the provision offered by Claire and James at TPN I am so impressed by their work ethic, their utter devotion and concern for every single child in their care. The facilities, I have watched them grow and build, have been made with care, thought and FUN in mind. Every staff member I have met has been professional, loving and welcoming.
Their dedication to excellence is unparalleled. Don’t know what we’d do without the NEST!
That level of diligence was quite simply extraordinary. It was clear from the beginning that their priority was not just to provide childcare, but to provide a safe, thoughtful and nurturing environment for Florence, while also supporting and reassuring us as parents. Their passion for what they do, and their determination to get things right, has been evident throughout.
They have considered every aspect of the great outdoors for young children, creating a framework where children flourish, feel safe whatever the weather and truly learn through play and exploration. have seen my grandchildren nurtured within a safe, creative and empowering environment which enables them to be curious, resilient and confident. It is wonderful above all to see how happy they are there.I am certain that The Pheasant Nest will become an exemplar of what outstanding nursery education should be and very much hope that more and more children have the opportunity to benefit from this brilliant early years approach.
The creativity, imagination, and dedication that have gone into creating the Pheasant Nest are truly outstanding, and we feel incredibly fortunate to be able to send our daughter there.
The staff are without exception kind, committed, and wonderful role models. I think our son feels genuinely loved and talks about them regularly and with such warmth.
